Another peacekeeper was also injured during the incident.

The Secretary-General offers his condolences to the friends and families of the deceased and to the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania. He wishes a speedy recovery to the injured and urges the authorities of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to swiftly investigate this incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
