COUNTRY STRATEGY:
WFP is planning to assist 3.6 million vulnerable people through an emergency relief, early recovery and resilience programme (PRRO 200540), primarily through food distributions and cash or voucher transfers. WFP's Purchase for Progress (P4P) activities in Katanga and Equateur Provinces are ongoing and a new phase is being designed for 2015-2017. WFP is implementing three special operations for the benefit of the humanitarian community: strengthening the coordination of the Logistics Cluster (SO200747); strengthening the coordination of the Food Security Cluster (SO200661); and operating the United Nations Humanitarian Air Services – UNHAS (SO 200789).
WFP has been present in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 1973
