The situation remains tense and MSF is attempting to provide for the large humanitarian needs in the area.
-People are being caught in the crossfire and made victims of targeted violence. Since 19 November, at least 650 wounded people have reportedly been admitted into public hospitals in the southern part of North Kivu and Minova.
-Sixty five cases of sexual violence have been registered in Minova and camps close to Goma.
-Displaced people are facing increasingly precarious living conditions. In the camps, the main needs are still food and essential non-food items. In the Mugunga and Lac Vert camps, the number of displaced people has increased from 50 000 to 95 000 people, and Mugunga III camp was looted of plastic sheeting, cooking utensils and food by armed men over the weekend.
-MSF is treating wounded people in Minova and Goma, and working in three IDP camps providing clean water, latrines, essential non-food items and medical care.
